Sean Headley – Chair
Now Chief Executive of his own independent consultancy, having founded Keeping It Simple Training 13 years ago to contribute to local regeneration, employment development and business support initiatives in North London. During this time, the company grew to become one of North London’s largest training providers with centres in several London boroughs. In 2009, ownership of the organisation transferred to the MEEETS Group of which Sean served as Group Chief Executive from August 2009 – August 2010. Sean was Chair of the North London Learning Partnership (2004-10) and a Board Member on the London Work Based Learning Alliance (2006-10), Capital Enterprise and Regional Support Centre for London Work-Based Learning.
Colette Taylor – Vice-Chair
Director of Vega Associates, a consultancy which provides evaluation, organisational review, community consultation, capacity building and contract negotiation and management. Colette undertook a review of North London Credit Union which informed her of the value of its services to the local community, particularly in the current economic climate. She would like to contribute to promoting NLCU to local people and small businesses as a safe and easy way to save and to access loans.
Michael Bradley – Director
Managing Director at FAST FORWARD GROUP and ARCHIVE123 since 1998, two Tottenham-based companies specialising in office moving logistics and secure Document Management storage services. Michael decided to set up his own businesses in 1979, following five years as transport manager for hospital groups in Camden and Islington, prior to which he spent eight years after college as a musician and band leader touring Europe and the UK.
Michael has lived in north London for 35 years and fully supports the aims and ideals of the NLCU.
Richie Hamden – Compliance Officer
Richie is Enterprise Manager for Avanta (Incorporating TNG & InBiz). The company delivers Welfare to Work Programmes including self-employment, and is a prime provider to the Department for Work and Pensions. He joined Avanta in 1996 and has extensive knowledge of public sector funded business support programmes. Having lived and worked in the borough of Enfield for 15 years, Richie is fully aware of the challenges facing both small firms and individuals within the locality.
Tom Hanrahan – Member of the Supervisory Committee
Tom has wide experience in manufacturing and product development with an international company, setting up a manufacturing plant in Japan, and training local workforces in several countries. He started his own business in 1989, setting up a new plant in Teeside and developing new products. In 1995 Tom became a business adviser with Barfield Group, a major training and consulting company, and became Counselling Manager in 1996, leading a team of advisers helping start up businesses. Tom is a founder-member of the Credit Union, and has been on its board since its inception.
Lydia Lezama – Member of the Supervisory Committee
Lydia is a self-employed Assessor/Tutor in Health and Social Care and a Social Work Assistant at Haringey Council. Her previous background is in Accounting, having both a BSc in Accounting and Finance and AAT qualification. Accounting is now just a hobby as she does her own accounting as well as assisting friends with theirs. Lydia believes that being on the Supervisory Committee helps her to put her accounting knowledge into practice.
Tony Sathyaseelan – Director
Owner-manager of AP Express, a courier business based in north London, Tony is also voluntary Chairman and CEO of Thamil Community, a Law Centre. He is also involved in the Thamil Community Credit Union Study group, set up two years ago. This is progressing very well and it is intended to apply for permission to trade as a credit union shortly. He was awarded an MSc in Corporate Finance & Investment by the Metropolitan University in March 2011.
